Dear Colleagues:

As the field of tumor angiogenesis and anti-angiogenic therapy continues to undergo explosive growth, the 9th International Symposium on Anti-Angiogenic Agents provides current and useful information to basic scientists, clinical investigators, and those who practice oncology.  This year’s symposium has been developed to focus on the most recent advances in basic biology, preclinical, and clinical development of anti-angiogenic therapies.  Approximately half of the symposium will report on clinical trials with anti-angiogenic therapy for specific malignancies.  This novel symposium, addressing both basic and clinical research, continues to be recognized as the largest international symposium of its kind.  Highlights of the 2007 symposium include the following:
  • In-depth discussion on the basic science of angiogenesis
  • An update on new and emerging targets for anti-angiogenic therapy
  • A session on early drug development designed to keep investigators apprised of anti-angiogenic agents on the horizon
  • Results from clinical trials with anti-angiogenic therapy including colorectal cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, renal cell carcinoma, ovarian cancer, CNS malignancies, ocular disease, and melanoma

As in years past, we are pleased to have confirmed leaders in the fields of biology, hematology, and oncology who are actively involved in the investigation of angiogenesis and methods to inhibit this process. In addition to faculty plenary presentations, the symposium will also host a poster session from which several abstracts will be chosen for presentation at the plenary session. All attendees are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts to be considered for poster presentations.

Based on previous attendee feedback, we have scheduled the program from Thursday to Saturday, incorporated new speakers into the program, expanded available continuing education to include pharmacists (in addition to physicians), and have modifed the social functions to better accommodate symposium attendees.

For further information, including instructions regarding program registration and online abstract submission, please call 866-61-ANGIO (866-612-6446).

We look forward to your participation in what promises to be an exciting and educational symposium.

Sincerely,
